multimedia DESIGN LAB

As a multi-disciplinary designer, I took project from the lens of the creator and user. This project combines architectural CAD sketching and design knowledge to create a space for multimedia designers to work collaboratively. My aspirations when designing this design lab were to create a space that I as a designer would be able to utilize fully. When beginning this project, I found inspiration in the design labs I already had access to at NC State. I took note of the equipment and spaces that were helpful to me and other students when creating, and I also took note of what I felt was missing. 

 

In conclusion, I enjoyed the availability and access to different equipment throughout the campus, but wanted to create an environment that allowed designers and creators to work more closely together. Equipment included in the ideation of this design lab includes A/V equipment, audio booths, a computer lab, and more. This project was valuable to understanding the designing of workspaces and the cost it takes to provide a workspace with the necessary equipment for multimedia designer and creatives.
