For my senior project in a Design Research course, I research and created my very own playground design. My research included gaining an understanding of childhood development in regards to physical and mental growth and the various materials used in playgrounds. This project taught me that a good playground should provide a safe environment for children to test their physical abilities, while adhering to safety codes. A playground that doesn't provide enough challenge will invoke the user to create their own challenges, which usually comes with using the equipment in a way that it was not meant to be used.
